 Gout is an inflammatory condition of joints, in which the patient experiences sudden and intense pain, swelling and redness in the joints. The condition results most commonly from unhealthy lifestyle and inadequate diet. Extremely raised level of uric acid in the body is the main cause of gout. Uric acid is produced from the breakdown of purines.
